Connect a project
Public Studio installation is unavailable right now. These steps are for people who already have a working Apple plugin. New customers can use chat, but cannot build inside Studio yet. Plugin availability.
Connecting links the Apple panel in this Studio window to one Apple project. Until you do it, the plugin is inert: the panel reads Not connected and Apple cannot see or change anything.
The link uses a short-lived pairing code instead of your password. Treat the code as a temporary credential: enter it only in your own Apple plugin and do not share it.
Connecting
- Open the place you want Apple to work on in Roblox Studio.
- In Studio's Plugins tab, click Apple. TheApple Studio panel docks and shows Not connected.
- In the Apple web workspace, open the project. Until Studio is linked, the conversation ends with a Connect Roblox Studio block — press Enter pairing codeon its last step. (The Connect button in the project's Studiopanel opens the same thing.) You get a six-character code — something like
K7M3QP— with a countdown. - Type that code into the plugin panel and press Connect to Apple.
The panel reads Connected followed by the project name, and the button becomesDisconnect. The web workspace stops saying it is waiting for Studio and shows the place you have open. The access line reads Access: inspect only: Apple can now read this place, and it cannot change anything yet.
Allowing edits
Edits are allowed per connection, and every new connection starts with them off. In the panel, press Enable edits… and confirm with Allow edits for this connection. The access line changes to Access: edits allowed for this connection, and Apple can build when this project's chat asks it to. PressTurn edits off at any time to go back to inspect only.
About the code
- It expires after 10 minutes and works once. Expired or already used, it is dead — generate a new one.
- It is six characters drawn from an alphabet with no confusable letters — no O, I, L or 1 — so there is nothing to squint at.
- Case does not matter and punctuation is ignored, so
k7m3qpandK7M-3QPboth work. - You can have up to five unused codes alive at once, across all your projects.
What the connection covers
- One Studio window, one project. Opening a different place, or a second Studio window, does not carry the connection with it — connect that window too.
- It survives restarts. The plugin remembers the session, so reopening Studio reconnects without a new code.
- It expires after 30 days. When it does, the panel saysSession ended — reconnect with a new code. Generate a fresh code and connect again.
Disconnecting
Press Disconnect in the plugin panel, or disconnect from the web workspace. Either one stops Apple acting on the place immediately, whether or not the plugin stays installed. Nothing Apple already built is undone — use Studio's undo or a checkpoint for that.
Team Create: the connection belongs to your Studio window, and Apple's edits reach your teammates the same way your own edits do. Teammates who want their own Apple chat should connect their own Studio window to their own project.
Something not lining up? Troubleshooting lists the exact messages the panel can show and what each one means.
